Cornhill Gardens

Tarpey Woodfine Architects were approached by clients who’d purchased a plot of land with outline planning consent and wanted to self-build a sustainable dwelling achieving similar standards to those set out in Passivhaus.

The new-build private dwelling is set in an elevated position overlooking woodland.  The dwelling is timber framed and heated via an air source heat pump. A mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system ensures excellent air quality and minimal heat losses. The cedar cladding reflects the woodland setting, and the modern form of the dwelling sits comfortably next to the neighbouring stone property from the Victorian era.
