Our client owned a large farmhouse on a 4 acre site but wanted to downsize with minimum disruption. Tarpey Woodfine Architects designed and managed the construction of a new low-carbon dwelling within the grounds of their existing home. This was for the purpose of sale on the open market.
The dwelling has been built to high levels of thermal insulation and is heated via a ground source heat pump. There are also 4kw of PV solar panels on the south-facing roof and a fresh water borehole. Land Lizard designed the gardens and closely collaborated with Tarpey Woodfine Architects to ensure that the dwelling and landscaping complimented each other. The dwelling is approximately 180 sqm with 4 bedrooms.
